Jerry Ludwig of Redwood County named Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer

Jerry Ludwig of Redwood County has been chosen as Minnesota’s 4-H Salute to Excellence Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer. Jerry provides leadership to the Minnesota 4-H Shooting Sports and Wildlife Project in Redwood County and serves on the Minnesota 4-H State Project Development Committee. He is committed to mentoring young people to not only achieve mastery, but to develop important life skills, including integrity of decision-making. As a retired veteran, Jerry is dedicated to service which is evident in programs he leads with other youth and adult volunteers.

Jerry was chosen by a panel of judges from an outstanding list of nominees. He advances to the north central region judging, then to the national level if selected.

The National 4-H Salute to Excellence Volunteer Awards recognize 4-H volunteers who demonstrate exemplary service to 4-H. Each year state 4-H programs nominate two outstanding individual volunteers through the 4-H Salute to Excellence Awards. The Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer Award is given to an individual who has spent 10 or more years as a 4-H volunteer while the Volunteer of the Year Award is given to an individual who has volunteered for 4-H less than 10 years.
