2017 Big Stone Fair Recap

The 2017 Big Stone County Fair is now in the books and what a great fair it was! There are so many things to be thankful for- the beautiful weather, the new grills in our 4-H food stand, the local support of the community as many attended the shows to support our youth. I am most thankful to the 4-Hers who spend many hours throughout the year preparing their static exhibits and livestock to showcase to the community during a five day run.  The fair could not function without the numerous 4-H volunteers who serve as project leaders, superintendents, help set up the exhibit building and work in the 4-H stood. I am thankful to the Big Stone County Fairboard for their dedication and commitment to the fair, and for the many improvements and additions they provided, including the new poultry and rabbit cages as well as a new concession stand. Your hard work does not go unnoticed. Thank you to our 4-H foodstand staff - it is because of you that our foodstand is successful every year! Lastly I like to thank my staff, Barb, Hannah and Rachael for the many hours you put in to provide a wonderful experience for our 4-H families. As I say goodbye to the fair season in our county, I also would like to thank my support staff Barb for her time and dedication to the 4-H program over the last 13 years. You have been a great asset to the Big Stone County Extension Staff, and you will be missed! Thank you to everyone for a successful county fair, and enjoy the rest of your summer.- Suzanne
