Late Season Weed Control

While chemical control of weeds is ineffective at later stages of weed growth, steps can be taken even this late into the growing season. Mowing or cultivating fence-row weeds such as giant ragweed, velvetleaf, or pigweed before viable seed is set can help stem the tide of weeds spilling into your acreage in the spring. See the following article posted by the University of Minnesota Extension Crops Team for more information.
