Meet our Ambassador Advisors

Ashley Ellensohn

I grew up in Le Mars, Iowa and received my bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Iowa State University in 2015. I now work for Schwartz Farms as a nursery production training coordinator. I have been involved in 4-H since I was in 4th grade. While in 4-H I showed horses, assisted my family in showing beef cattle, and participated in many static project areas. I chose to be a 4-H volunteer because 4-H provided so much for me growing up and I wanted to give back to the program. I enjoy the ambassador program because it gives the 4-H’ers a chance to build and grow the program the way they would like to.

Amanda Huiras

I grew up on a farm between Sleepy Eye and New Ulm and was involved in the Milford 4-H club when I was younger. It was a smaller club, and I held every leadership position at some point or another. I participated in the general categories during fair time: fine arts, photography, horticulture, etc. I enjoyed my 4-H experience because of the leadership opportunities it provided, as well as the connections later in life. As one of the co-advisers for the Brown County Ambassador Program, I enjoy being able to provide resources and ideas to the ambassadors, so that they can learn how to successfully lead large projects and events.

In 2013, I graduated with a degree in Agricultural Communications and in Public Relations & Advertising. I have been employed at Christensen Farms for four years, previously in the Supply Chain department as an ingredient buyer, and now as a Communications Specialist. In my free time I like to quilt, walk my dogs, swim, travel and read.

Join the Ambassador group today and start gaining life skills and life-long friendships!

Next Meeting: November 20th at 6:30 pm (GOT:VIVA Focus Group meeting followed by Ambie activity)
