  • Risk Management Training for Adult Volunteers
    The goal of risk management is simply keeping everyone safe at 4-H events and activities. 4-H volunteers need to know and follow the Overall Risk Management Policies and Practices when planning all 4-H programs. The objectives of this training are to help volunteers understand risk management in 4-H, share the tools to plan for risk management and to understand their responsibilities in managing risk to keep everyone in 4-H safe.
  • Robotics
    The next Robotics meeting is Tuesday, May 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Carlton County Extension Office, 317 Chestnut Ave, Carlton.
  • Golf Scramble for Build the Barn
    The Build the Barn/Move the Arena committee is sponsoring a Golf Scramble on Saturday, June 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Twenty Nine Pines Golf Course in Mahtowa. To register call 29 Pines Golf Course at 218-389-3136. All proceeds benefit the new barn and relocated horse arena.
  • Learning with the Esko Cloverleafs
    Esko Cloverleafs Club fun meeting activity
  • Building with the Family Pride Club
    The Family Pride Club built wood boxes at the April Meeting. Everyone attending built their own tool box.

County Agriculture Educator

  • Southern States Wildfire Relief
    John Shipley, Carlton County Extension Committee member and local farmer, felt he had to do something when the states of Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma and Colorado were ravaged by devastating wildfire in early March. He has set up a relief account at the Cloquet Members Cooperative Credit Union for donations. He is also looking for hay donations and trucking to these states for early June.
  • Managing your Grazed Woodlands (Silvopasture)
    Silvopasture Workshop and Walk, starting Friday June 16 at 4 p.m. and continuing on Saturday, June 17 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the Fort Ripley - Brainerd area.
