National 4-H Week

National 4-H Week is Oct 1-7.

The  Cass County 4-H Federation has approved a motion to reimburse each club up to $25 for the purchase of window paint and/or sidewalk chalk to decorate towns around the county for National 4-H Week. You can paint/write Cass County 4-H, clovers, National 4-H Week, “To Make the Best Better,” etc. on storefront windows and sidewalks.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you ask businesses if they will allow you to do it first and most are happy to let you.

Go in as a group wearing your 4-H shirts, tell them about National 4-H Week and that you are going around town decorating for it. Ask if you can use window paint on the windows and/or chalk on the sidewalk in front of their store. Sell them on the idea a little and let them know that you and the community (their customers) will appreciate them showing their support for 4-H. Also make sure to TELL THEM THAT YOU WILL BE BACK LATER IN THE MONTH TO CLEAN THE WINDOWS so that they don’t have to. You want to make this easy for them to show their support and no effort should be required from them or their employees. Each club should try to decorate in the town(s) nearest where your club is centered. Clubs near Pine River should coordinate with each other and split up areas of town to cover. Ambies will try to cover other towns where we do not have clubs. If you have any questions or need any help, please contact the Extension Office.

Also for National 4-H Week, as you take photos of your projects or animals that you would like to share on our Facebook page or website, please send them to Maria at the Extension Office at
