New University of Minnesota major announced: Agricultural and Communications Marketing

The University of Minnesota has announced a new major of interest to current and upcoming students.  The Agricultural Communication and Marketing (ACM)  major is a unique program that helps students combine interest in and passion for food, agriculture and natural resource sciences with fundamental real-world skills in communication, education, and leadership.  ACM students learn how to build understanding, share knowledge, increase awareness and make valuable contributions to the dynamic and evolving food and agricultural fields.

The program includes coursework in media writing, campaign planning, social media strategy, digital storytelling, and visual communications.  The major combines the scientific aspects of food and agriculture with the technical and social skills students need to become future agricultural leaders and advocates.

This major can prepare students for a diverse range of careers including Communications Specialist, Agricultural News Reporter, Extension Educator, Social Media Manager, Corporate Agricultural Associate, and many more.  For more information and to download a brochure about the program visit
