Awards Banquet

Seventy-five 4-H members, parents, volunteers and community supporters gathered on Monday, November 6th at The Hollywood to celebrate another year of growth and accomplishment of members in the Chippewa County 4-H Program. The Awards Banquet was planned and hosted by the Chippewa County 4-H Ambassadors and a committee. The annual event is held to recognize accomplishments throughout the year, recognize supporters and provide a time to get together with fellow 4-hers from across the county.

Individual 4-H members are recognized for state fair participation, national competition participation and project record winners.

Ethan Andresen was awarded the “People’s Choice for County Fair Project” receiving the most votes from fairgoers for his lego helicopter project.

Chase Corner received the nationally recognized “I Dare You Leadership Award”.

Nina Buchanan was awarded the “Outstanding Demonstrator”.

Danny Bartels was chosen as the “Outstanding Club Treasurer” representing the Granite Go-Getters 4-H Club.

The “Outstanding Club Reporter” is Brenna Winters from the Cheerful Champs 4-H Club.

The “Outstanding Club Secretary” was given to a sibling pair who share the responsibility with the Granite Go-Getters 4-H Club, Skyler and Gage Corner.

Winning 2017 Club of the Year was the Cheerful Champs 4-H Club. The Granite Go-Getters 4-H Club was honored with the Herdsmanship Award, sponsored by the Chippewa County Fair Board.

The “2017 Outstanding Young 4-H Club Member”, an honor and award sponsored by Klein Bank represented by Greg Mulder, was earned by Eliza Buchanan of the Mandt Livewires 4-H Club.

The Farm Bureau sponsors and awards the prestigious “Outstanding Youth Leader” award which was given to Danny Bartels by Kent Bosch.

The Friend of 4-H Award is given each year to an individual or organization which goes above and beyond in supporting 4-H programs in Chippewa County. This year, the Deer Hunters Association – Two Rivers Chapter was honored for their support of the Shooting Sports and Wildlife Project. Gary Groothuis and Brad Lindemann attended the banquet and accepted the award.

The banquet and other awards were also sponsored by the following businesses: Jennie-O, Bill’s Supermarket, Jake’s Pizza, Pizza Ranch, Prairie West Mutual Insurance, Co-Op Credit Union, Prairie Sun Bank, Farmers Union Oil Company, and Leenthrop Farmers Insurance.
