Ambassador Program Underway - not to late to join!

The Chisago County 4-H Ambassador program provides intentional opportunities for youth to represent 4-H through leadership and citizenship that contributes meaningfully to their communities. County Ambassadors are a select team of Chisago 4-H youth that have demonstrated leadership in their local 4-H programs, and who are interested in developing and refining skills to teach other 4-H youth about leadership and citizenship topics. The Chisago County 4-H Ambassador program consists of 4 pillars that define it:

1. LEADERSHIP – The Ambassador program will provide real life learning experiences for 4-H members to demonstrate and develop personal and group leadership. Leadership is the ability to guide, direct, or influence utilizing the talents and skills of others, and the ability to understand self and others in order to carry out goals. Like the 4-H program that they represent, much of the learning will be youth led and self-directed. Chisago County 4-H Ambassadors are leaders.

2. PROMOTION – The Ambassador program encourages 4-H members to become passionate promoters for 4-H in Chisago County. As a diverse team, Ambassadors will join together to spread the positive impacts of 4-H to potentially new and existing members. Chisago County
4-H Ambassadors are promoters.

3. MENTORSHIP – The Ambassador program will stretch 4-H members to take the learning and skills that they possess and use them to influence and encourage other youth within the county. This mentorship can take many forms, but the focus should be on fostering a positive, encouraging and valuable relationship with others. Chisago County 4-H Ambassadors are mentors.

4. LIFELONG LEARNING – The Ambassador program will focus on continuing the youth development process in each of its members. We recognize that learning is the work of a lifetime. Ambassadors will be pushed to continue to develop themselves and their skills. The program will provide a safe learning environment that challenges members to step out of their comfort zone and try new things that stretch them beyond what they thought was possible. Chisago County 4-H Ambassadors are learners.
