A successful County Fair experience starts now

4-H has always been rooted in the tradition of providing high quality, educational programs through caring and supportive volunteers. By investing in our youth we are preparing the next generation of leaders to lead and become social change agents in their communities.

It may seem like County Fair is just a recent memory, but before you know it 2018 will be here! To ensure a successful County Fair experience and to ensure our programs are sustained for years to come we must begin now to lay the foundation for quality learning opportunities, clear organization and effective communication.

We have a great opportunity this year to do this through the development of new project development committees (PDC's).

These PDC's will:

  • be youth centered, supported by caring adults who are vested in ensuring a positive learning experience
  • focus on educational content and life skill development
  • focus on developing and implementing programs to meet the needs of our 4-H youth
  • Specific duties may include planning educational project meetings and/or workshops, supporting County Fair programming and seeking to recruit and support new 4-H members
  • It is anticipated that PDC's will meet quarterly throughout the year for planning and discussion
  • It is not expected that PDC members attend all programmed events but that they implement a youth and volunteer structure to supervise and deliver events
  • Terms of service and membership requirements will be set to ensure rotating perspectives and contributions from across our 4-H program
