Have you done your volunteer training?

The statewide Fall volunteer training was held at the end of October.  The topic was "Expanding Our Roots - Growing New Opportunities."

This statewide fall volunteer training is for all 4-H youth and adult volunteers.   It's our responsibility to ensure our new volunteers feel welcomed and valued and that our current volunteers feel prepared to support and engage these new individuals.  Participants will be asked to think about their club/group and how they get members excited and involved in club work and activities.  This can be hard work and involves recruiting as well as ensuring that when new members and families come to us we are able to meet their needs – that they feel like they belong.

There were many clubs who did not have representation at the training. This is an important training for all 4-H volunteers. If your club did not have representation at the training, please set up a time with Sarah to incorporate the training into one of your club meetings.

Are you interested in volunteering with 4-H? If you haven't yet applied or re-enrolled to volunteer this year click here to get started.
