  • Poultry disease update for commercial and backyard producers
USDA APHIS has confirmed Avian Influenza in turkey flocks in Pope, Stearns, and Le Qui Pac counties. CDC considers the risk to people to be low. Poultry owners should monitor their flocks and report sick birds to the Minnesota Board of Animal Health.
  • Nitrogen research on your farm?
Farmers and irrigators, we need your help. Local research results are critical to provide you the best information about nitrogen use efficiency to achieve good yields while protecting water quality. We are now looking for a Dakota County farmer-cooperator who would like to host this on-farm experiment in 2015.
  • Take the Small Farms Survey
If you produce or aspire to produce vegetables, fruit, livestock, or other specialty crops for sale in local and regional markets, please help the University of Minnesota Extension Small Farms Team better understand how we can serve you.
