Report on economic impact of local food operations

Grapes and strawberries at a farmers' market

If you've been looking for numbers on the economics of local food production, you might find this new report from the U of M useful: "A study of the financial performance of 11 commercial vegetable operations in central Minnesota," by Extension Educator Ryan Pesch and economic analyst Brigid Tuck. The report looks at both the economic contribution of farms to the local economy, and at the internal economics of the farms studied.
