BIOMASS Energy Informational Sessions
Producing biomass on farms for a power plant will be discussed at the Southern Research and Outreach Center in Waseca on Thursday, October 23. Two meeting times will be offered. The first meeting of the day will be offered from 10:00 am to 12:00 with lunch provided. The second offering will run from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Topics will include: Farm economics and working alternative crops into an existing farm system; A discussion of Biomass and funding to cost-share in this new enterprise; An example of fuel supply contracts; Trials of willow and hybrid poplars from Waseca and the State University of New York. An open discussion will take place after the presentations.
