New Feedlot Publication Available

A new publication titled : Minnesota Livestock Producer's Directory of Feedlot Resources" is now available at County Extension Offices throughout Minnesota. This 100 page reference publication contains addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, and web site locations for federal, state, and local offices that provide resources associated with feedlots, permitting, and manure management. It also contains a listing of livestock organizations and a list of licensed Commercial Animal Waste Technicians, and a list of Manure and Soil Testing Laboratories approved by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.

In addition to this publication, the Minnesota Department of Agriculture also developed a publication titled : "Minnesota Livestock Producer's Guide to Feedlot Rules". This publication provides an overview of Minnesota Feedlot Rules and Regulations (Chapter 7020) and Minnesota Environmental Review Rules (Chapter 4410). The Department is also in the process of finalizing a third publication titled : "Minnesota Livestock Producer's Feedlot Planning and Operations Manual", that will be available in a few weeks.

All of these publications are available to producers free of charge and are being distributed through the county offices of the University of Minnesota Extension Service.
