Land Value Data On Extension Service Web Site
The Blue Earth County Extension Service has added a link on their web site to the recently released University of Minnesota farmland sales data. Steve Taff, Applied Economics Specialist at the University, updates the farmland and timberland sales data from throughput the state each year. This same site also contains detailed property tax information, based on the property tax reforms passed by the 2001 Minnesota State Legislature.
The Extension Service web site also contains several Information Sheets on the new Farm Bill, government farm programs, and other management topics, written by Kent Thiesse and other University of Minnesota Extension Service Educators. In addition, this web site has useful links to several other very good agriculture related web sites, including the latest averages for farm machinery custom rates.
The Blue Earth County Extension Service web site address is: http://www3.extension.umn.edu/county/blueearth/
Just click on "Farm Management" to access the updated University of Minnesota land value data and the Extension Service Information Sheets on the New Farm Bill and other farm management topics. Please call the County Extension Office (507-389-8325) if there are further questions or if you have trouble accessing the web site.
