Extension Service Web Site Updated
The local web site for the Blue Earth and Faribault County Extension Office provides free and easy access to a number of Extension Service publications and educational resources. The web site contains information and articles written by Regional Educators with the University of Minnesota Extension Service on subject matter in farm management and marketing, crop management, foods and nutrition, and much more. The web site is updated frequently by Support Staff at the Extension Offices, according to Kent Thiesse, Blue Earth and Faribault County Extension Director.
Thiesse indicates that the Extension web site provides a direct link to popular publications such as the "2003 Iowa Farm Custom Rate Sheet" and the "Land Rental Survey Summary Booklet for 2002-2003". The recent "Farm Programs" Columns, written by Thiesse, on management of government farm programs are available at this site. The web site also contains a considerable amount of yard and garden information under "Horticulture", as well as providing links to other University Extension Service resources. The "Child and Youth Development" segment contains the latest updates on the 4-H program and other youth programs.
Thiesse said that the County web pages also provides links to the University of Minnesota Extension Service web page and to "INFO-U" at the University.
