American Farm Bureau Annual Convention

WHAT WILL THE 4-H EXPERIENCE AT THE CONVENTION?

The youth are offered FREE admission to the Farm Bureau Convention. They will get to experience the rural entrepreneurship challenge, attend leadership workshops, listen to keynote speakers (Reba McEntire!), and experience and participate in the IDEAg trade show which will give them a chance to converse with ag businesses and industries about future careers as well as learn about innovative technologies!

What is the Farm Bureau? Farm Bureau is an independent, non-governmental, voluntary organization governed by and representing farm and ranch families united for the purpose of analyzing their problems and formulating action to achieve educational improvement, economic opportunity and social advancement and, thereby, to promote the national well-being.

This trip to Nashville will ALSO provide opportunities for 4-H’ers to:

  • Learn more about TN agriculture by touring the Belle Mead Plantation (horse farm).
  • Learn more about the history and architecture of the Missouri Gateway Arch by touring it on the way to TN.
  • Build relationships with fellow Freeborn Co. 4-H youth and adults.
  • Learn responsibility by having a chance to learn and explore on their own and follow schedule.
