Livestock Quality Assurance & Ethics Trainings

Steele County -  • Date: Saturday, June 9, 2018  • Levels Taught: Level 1 & 2  • Time: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (Registration begins at 8:45 a.m.)  • Location: Owatonna Junior High School  • Pre-registration required! Contact 444-7685 or mnext-steele@umn.edu to register 

Special Info for the sessions listed above:
• Mower, and Steele county trainings are free to 4-H members in the counties of Freeborn, Mower, Rice, Steele and Waseca counties.
• Pre-registration is required. Due to facility space, each session is limited to a set number of pre-registered participants. Mower, Steele, and counties will only be accepting up to 60 youth in Level 1 and 60 youth in Level 2, so register EARLY!
• All three counties listed are currently taking registrations, so you can contact them to sign up now.
Youth in grades 3, 4, and 5 should sign up for Level 1. If you are older than 5th grade and have never taken LQA&E training, you should take Level 1. If you are in grades 6, 7, or 8 and have taken LQA&E training before, you can select which level you take. 9th graders and up who have taken LQA&E before are required to take Level 2.

*  Watch for online option to take the training.

You are REQUIRED to take the LQA&E training in 2018 if you last took the LQA&E training in 2015 or prior to that and want to be eligible to exhibit at the2018 Freeborn County Fair and 2018 Minnesota 4-H State Fair Livestock Encampment (beef, dairy, goat, lama, poultry, rabbit, sheep, and/or swine)

You do NOT need to take the LQA&E training in 2018 if:
• You are ONLY exhibiting horse and/or dog
• You are a Cloverbud

If you cannot make one of the LQA&E trainings listed above, it is your responsibility to attend another county’s training.
