4-H Camp in the City Highlights

This summer, Hennepin County 4-H and the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board partnered together to deliver 4-H Camp in the City, a day camp spinoff of our beloved 4-H residential camp, Bay Lake.

4-H Camp in the City was held for two weeks at Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center in South Minneapolis and North Commons Park in North Minneapolis. Youth had four jam-packed days of hands-on learning, group challenges, science experiments, nature exploration, and arts and crafts. We even got to canoe each week!

We are very grateful for this partnership with MPRB, and would like to say a special thanks to
Peter Jaeger, our lead and site partner with MLK Park, and Yvette Griffea-Gray at North Commons Park. We look forward to conducting future programs together, and reaching more youth through a variety of 4-H programming!

And thank you to our Summer Day Camp staff: Haley Tallman, Kayla Kilawee, and Ridwaan Abdikadir! Your energy, passion, and dedication to youth made this program a success. Thank you for spending your summer with us!!!
