Ambassador Spotlight!

This month we are putting the spotlight on Evan Booge.  Evan is a senior at the Park Rapids high school and has been an active 4-H member for 12 years.  He is from a family of 4-Hers.  Two of his siblings have been an active part of 4-H and his mom Jennifer is also a very active volunteer.  Evan’s favorite color is CAMO.  He has a true love of music which you can see if you watch him play his saxophone or his guitar.  He is involved in band, jazz band, community band and he also has a DJ business. Evan belongs to the 4-H Riders club and our newest club, The 5th-H Preforming Arts Club.  Evan has been an Ambassador for 3 years.  His says the best thing about the Ambassador group is the other people in it.  His favorite 4-H project is photography.  Evan has also been a leader of our drill teams.   Evan is a wonderful camp counselor and can sing Bessie the Heifer with the best of them.  Evan sits on the State Photography Project Development committee where he gets to use his voice in helping to make decisions around this project area for our whole state. Evan is my “go to” guy when it comes to the fair and anything electronic.  He sets up and runs the sound system for the horse shows and drill team performances.  He also sets up the outdoor theater and the 4-H Dance.  Not only does it set up the dance and sound, but he is our DJ.  Evan uses his photography skills at the fair also.  He has his own photo booth at the fair and offers various packages to 4-H families that would like their pictures with their projects taken.  Evan is a leader through and through.  I have watched him put these leadership skills to use as a camp counselor, as he leads photography workshops, as an officer in his club and as an officer on our Leader’s Council and definitely with our Ambassador group. Evan is passionate about everything he does, but he is also the first to offer a helping hand.  Evan is an amazing role model who always sets the bar high for himself.  He is constantly challenging himself and striving to “make the best better”.  I refer to Evan as my “idea guy”.  I cannot count the number of times that Evan has come to me with a great idea.  When challenged to make his ideas become a reality, he never shy’s away.  He is always ready to step up to the plate and take on a new challenge.  Hubbard County 4-H is very proud to call Evan Booge one of ours.
