4-H in Itasca County

  • Horse Gaming Clinic
    Enrolled 4-H members grades 3+ can come and learn gaming techniques at this clinic with Bambi Egle and Tammy Hofsommer on July 21-22, 2018 at the Itasca County Fairgrounds. Camping is available at the fairgrounds and there is a $75 per horse/rider combination fee and a $20 returnable stall fee. RSVP now at https://goo.gl/jqULcr.
  • Freezin' Fun at Mt. Itasca
    Join us on Sunday, February 11th from 1-3pm at Mt. Itasca in Coleraine for an afternoon of tubing fun! Cost is $5/enrolled 4-H youth ($20/family) or $15/non-enrolled. Bring a snack to share, have a chaperone sign the waiver form at Mt. Itasca, and RSVP at https://goo.gl/xx2b2f no later than Monday, February 5th.
  • Heart and Hooves
    The Heart and Hooves Clinics focus on strengthening the partnership between horse and enrolled 4-H riders grades 6+ using groundwork, obstacle course work and riding basics. These clinics offer an amazing opportunity for equestrian and equine to advance their skill level, no matter their previous experience. Clinics I & II will take place June 23-25 and Clinic III will be September 15 & 16 at the Heart and Hooves Horsemanship Arena and Obstacle Course in Deer River, MN. The $400 fee for Clinics I & II and $250 for Clinic II includes meals and camping onsite is available.
  • Message from Dorothy: Teenagers: Your self-confidence is key!
    Associate dean and state 4-H director Dorothy Freeman encourages young people to be bold and build their self-confidence.
  • JOANNhearts4H – Support 4-H youth with a 4-H paper clover
    In February, make a $4 donation at your local JOANN register. You'll support 4-H and get $4 off your next purchase. And join a special Valentine's Day community service event on Feb. 3.
  • Attend spring 2018 SS&W Leader Certification Training
    Register by April 6 for the April 21-22 training to be held at the Long Lake Conservation Center in Palisades. This training is for Minnesota 4-H adults and youth (9th grade and older) that lead or would like to lead training in shooting sports or wildlife.
  • Spend your summer in a youth development internship with 4-H
    Minnesota 4-H is now accepting applications for 2018 summer internships with 4-H programs in counties across the state. The application deadline is open until positions are filled with a preference for candidates who apply by Feb. 15.
  • Jerry Ludwig of Redwood County named Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer
    Jerry Ludwig has been chosen as Minnesota’s 4-H Salute to Excellence Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer.
  • Crissy Otting of Clearwater County honored as Volunteer of the Year
    Crissy Otting has received the Minnesota 4-H Salute to Excellence Volunteer of the Year Award.
