  • Itasca County 4-H'ers in Washington D.C. for National Youth Summit on Agri-Science

    In order to continue to fuel the discovery of new solutions and solve big challenges in human health, agriculture and food, it will be critical to cultivate the next generation of leaders in science. Three local innovators of tomorrow, LeRoy Porter, Quiana Radaich and Katelyn Slettom, recently got the chance to hone their agri-science skills at the National Youth Summit on Agri-Science in Washington, D.C.
  • Build It! Challenge

    Have fun building and creating your own solutions to a variety of challenges using mandatory pieces and selecting from our “supply pantry” of LEGOs, cups, and sticks at the Science and Robotics Build It! Challenge. Open to 4-H'ers grades K+ on Thursday, April 19th from 6-8p.m. at the Itasca County Courthouse. Register by Friday, April 13 at

  • Trail and Showmanship Clinic with Darleen Gargano and Kelly Manner

    Are you ready to take your Trail Class and Showmanship knowledge to the next level? AQHA competitors Darleen Gargano adn Kelly manner are offering their expertise to Itasca and North St Louis County 4-H'ers in a one-day clinic free of charge. Open to enrolled 4-H'ers grades 3+, this clinic will take place on Saturday, May 12 from 8am-4pm at the Swan River Pastures in Bovey, MN.   • Horse Gaming Clinic

    Enrolled 4-H members grades 3+ can come and learn gaming techniques at this clinic with Bambi Egle and Tammy Hofsommer on July 21-22, 2018 at the Itasca County Fairgrounds. Camping is available at the fairgrounds and there is a $75 per horse/rider combination fee and a $20 returnable stall fee. RSVP now at
  • Heart and Hooves

    The Heart and Hooves Clinics focus on strengthening the partnership between horse and enrolled 4-H riders grades 6+ using groundwork, obstacle course work and riding basics. These clinics offer an amazing opportunity for equestrian and equine to advance their skill level, no matter their previous experience. Clinics I & II will take place June 23-25 and Clinic III will be September 15 & 16 at the Heart and Hooves Horsemanship Arena and Obstacle Course in Deer River, MN. The $400 fee for Clinics I & II and $250 for Clinic II includes meals and camping onsite is available.
  • 2018 Itasca County 4-H Dog Training

    Dog training is beginning soon for interested 4-H'ers grades 3+. Training will take place the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. January - May 10th will be at the Bubbles and Bows facility. May 24 - August 2 will be at the Itasca County Fairgrounds. Cost is $25/child or $50/family. Go to to register.
  • Itasca County 4-H Ambassador Program

    Are you in grades 6 through 12 and have a passion for 4-H? Then sign up to be a part of the Itasca County 4-H Ambassador program at! Our 1st meeting will be Sunday November 19 from 5:00-7:00pm at Caribou Coffee and will meet the 3rd Sunday of each month.
  • Itasca County 4-H youth take home Science of Agriculture top honors

    A project to streamline temporary electric fence installation earned a team of Itasca County youth first place in the Minnesota 4-H Science of Agriculture competition.
