Apply Now to be a 2018 4-H Camp Counselor or DOC

SW MN 4-H Summer Camp Counselor and Director of Counselors (DOC) applications are now open.  Camp counselor applications are open to youth in grades 9 and older.  Director of Counselors applicants must be current college students (freshmen accepted but sophomore or older preferred).  Camp will be held June 18-22, 2018 at Shetek Lutheran Ministries campground on Lake Shetek in Murray County. 

There will be a camp counselor training on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 1:00-7:00 p.m. at the 4-H Building in Slayton.  It is expected that all camp counselors and the DOC will attend this training!  Returning counselors will share experiences and assist with training new counselors.

There will be two additional mandatory camp planning meetings.  These will be held:

  • Sunday, April 8, from 1:00-6:00 p.m. at the Murray County 4-H Building Slayton
  • Wednesday, June 6, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Shetek Lutheran Ministries, Lake Shetek

The application deadline is January 17, 2018.

4-H Camp Counselor and DOC applications will be reviewed by Extension staff.  All applicants will be notified of results by the first week in February.
