  • 19th Annual Aitkin County 4-H/FFA Beef Show 2017
    The Aitkin 4-H & FFA Beef Show will be Saturday, July 8 at 10 a.m. at the Aitkin County Fairgrounds. This is a wonderful one-day show for beef exhibitors to attend. Classes include all ages of commercial and registered heifers, steers, cow/calf pairs and prospect calves as well as showmanship for all ages. Age requirements for animals are the same as Minnesota State Fair guidelines. All regular 4-H or FFA members are eligible. Cloverbuds are not eligible to exhibit at this show.

    Associate dean and state 4-H director Dorothy Freeman encourages youth and adults to make healthy choices this month and all year long. Our healthy choices can have a big impact on the community!
  • Register for the 2017 Minnesota 4-H State Shooting Sports & Wildlife Invitational!
    4-H youth in grades 3-13 who have completed 15 hours of on-line shooting under the guidance of a certified instructor and eight hours of wildlife education are invited to attend the 4-H Shooting Sports & Wildlife Invitational Sept. 8-10 at the Martin County Fairgrounds in Fairmont. This event involves approximately 800 young people and is the culmination of the year-long shooting and wildlife project. Individuals must register by July 17 and teams must register by Aug. 18.

    “Expanding Our Roots - Growing New Opportunities” is the 2017 fall volunteer training topic for youth and adult volunteers to explore our roots and gain resources for a welcoming and supportive 4-H program.   • 2017 State Arts-In registration now open!
    Register by June 23 for 22 days of theater arts for youth who have completed grade 9 - one year post high school at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds starting on Aug. 10. Great for leadership and team building!
