Shooting Sports and Wildlife Camp
Youth will explore disciplines of the MN 4-H Shooting Sports and Wildlife Program with certified leaders in: Archery, Air Rifle & Air Pistol or BB gun, and Wildlife.
ACTIVITIES: Fishing, Range Time, Wildlife Activities, Canoe/Paddleboats/Kayak, Swimming, Outdoor Cooking, and more camp FUN!
WHO: All youth currently in grades 3-8.
WHEN: August 7-8, 2014. Camp will begin on Thursday, August 7 with registration from 10:00 to 10:30 am. Campers will be released at 3:00 pm on Friday, August 8.
WHERE: Galilee Bible Camp near Lake Bronson State Park.
CHAPERONES NEEDED: Each county with youth participants must also have a chaperone 1:10 ratio.
CAMP COUNSELORS NEEDED: Youth in grades 9-12. We are looking for responsible youth who are willing to take on a leadership role during camp to help younger campers with on-line skills (correct position, handling of firearms, safety, scoring, etc.) fishing sports, and with camp wildlife sessions. If interested in serving as a camp counselor, please complete a camp counselor application for 4-H SS&W Camp.
QUALIFY FOR STATE SHOOT: Hours that are experienced at camp will count as on-line training and wildlife hours for eligibility at the 4-H State Shoot.
TRANSPORTATION: Transportation to camp is each camper’s responsibility. Carpooling is encouraged.
REGISTRATION DUE: Early bird - June 30, 2014. Includes free t-shirt. Registration deadline - August 1, 2014, and t-shirt may not be available.
COST: $50 – Early bird. $55 – Late registrations.
Local 4-H scholarships may be available.
