Tech Tuesdays 4-H Club - Simple Machines

Youth will practice engineering skills by constructing simple machines. Youth will use LEGOs to investigate and understand the operation of simple and compound machines found in everyday life: gears, wheels and axles, levers and pulleys.

This four week session will include:

  • Week 1 – February 14 – Gears
  • Week 2 – February 21 – Wheels & Axles
  • Week 3 - March 7 – Levers
  • Week 4 – March 14 – Pulleys

GRADES:  Any youth in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade.

CLASS SIZE LIMIT:  To keep an optimal learning environment and due to the limited equipment, there is a limit to the first 12 youth to complete registration.

DATES:  Tuesdays, February 14 to March 14

TIME:  After school to 5:00 p.m.

LOCATION:  Backus Community Center, Room 205

Youth will be able to Ride Bus #1 to St. Thomas and then walk over to the Backus Community Center.  A healthy afterschool snack will be provided. 

COST: $10 per student for all 4 weeks of this session. Issue payments to NORTHERN 4-H LEADERS COUNCIL.

HOW TO REGISTER:  members MUST have completed the Annual Enrollment at Please select “Tech Tuesdays 4-H Club” as your Club.

(Already  completed the the 2016-2017 enrollment for Robotics this past fall? Just mail in the payment form.)
