County and Tribal teams attended sessions on:

  • Fishing Safety with Nicole Kudrle, 4-H Program Coordinator
  • Bait & Tackle with Cory Crossley, STEM 4-H Coordinator
  • Cleaning fish with Laura Ambrose, 4-H Program Coordinator
  • Fish Sensory with Nicole Kudrle, 4-H Program Coordinator
  • Dock fishing with Scott Thompson, NSL 4-H Volunteer

Each team returned to their community program with:

  • 10 fishing poles and reels,
  • a tackle box full of lures
  • bait buckets
  • fish nets
  • first aid kits
  • copies of the curriculum
  • seed money to host a local event

The four youth leaders and adult volunteer who attended this training will be meeting with the County 4-H Program Coordinator to plan out hosting a Hooked on Fishing event for the Koochiching County 4-H program early this fall.
