Growing 4-H Opportunities Together: Volunteers In Vision and Action" Got: VIVA

Mahnomen County 4-H is going through a process to help define the direction of Mahnomen County 4-H, strengthen the volunteer system and structure to advance 4-H priorities & identify potential partners who have a mutual interest in working together to improve the scope & quality of youth development in the community.

Steering Committee Held on October 27th 11:00-12:30 at the Mahnomen Public School:  Jeff Bisek, Mitch Berg, Kyle Larson, Kim Anderson, Dana Tricky(White Earth 4-H), Karyn Santl (4-H Staff), Joshua Kukowski(4-H Staff), Gerri Swiers(4-H Staff) Youth:  Lindsey Swiers & Autumn Person

Four focus groups were held to get input from the community:
Youth not in 4-H (November 15 11:00-12:30) Mrs. Cardinal’s Ag Class -18 youth total/2 in 4-H)
Adults not involved in 4-H/Community Members (November 15 5:30-7:30 MASC – 8 adults)
Adults involved in 4-H (November 28 6:00-8:00 MASC – 7 adults)
Youth enrolled in 4-H (December 4 5:00-7:00 MASC – 5 youth)

The 2nd Steering Committee is scheduled for Thursday, December 8th 11:00-12:00 at the Mahnomen Public School.

Information from the focus groups will be reviewed & trends & issues will be identified.
More will be shared in future newsletters & at Federation meetings.
