Norman County Communication Arts Program

Norman County is excited to invite those interested in Communication Arts to participate in the Norman County Program.  The 4-H Communication Arts Program will be held Sunday, March 5th, 2017 at Grace Lutheran Church in Ada, MN.  The contest will begin at 2:00 p.m.

Public speaking is a life long skill that helps build positive character qualities among youth.  Norman County 4-H has been involved in developing this skill with the 4-H Communication Arts program.

This event is open to youth from kindergarten to 12th, including one year past high school.  There are four age groups:

  • Beginner I: K-3rd  (please indicate if participant is a Cloverbud-K-2nd grade)
  • Beginner II: 4th – 6th
  • Intermediate: 7th – 9th
  • Senior:  10th and over

Categories for the contest are Public Speaking, Interpretive Reading, Creative Writing and Photo Story.  Contestants are free to use any topic of their choice for any of the categories. Younger members especially should try to pick a topic that can be fun for them!

  • Contestants may participate in more than one category. Interviews with an evaluator will be held in all categories.  4-H members must be present to participate in the Communication Arts Contest.
  • Guidelines from the State for the contest categories will be followed.

Please Inform the Extension Office of schedule conflicts for timing of participants.

Registration Deadline is Tuesday, February 28th, 2017.
