  • 2017-2018 Martin County 4-H Ambassador Schedule

    The next Ambasador Meeting will be on Sunday, December 17 from 1:00 to 2:15pm - Touring the Martin County Humane Society
  • Performing Arts Project Club

    The next Performing Arts meeting will be on Friday, December 15 from 7:00 to approximately 10 pm – Attend performance of All is Calm at the Fairmont Opera House as a group. Meet at the Fairmont Opera House lobby where we will meet as a group before walking together into the theatre. Performance will run 7:30 pm to approximately 9:30 pm. We will then stay for the talk-back and a quick meet-and-greet with a cast member. There will also be a meeting on Sunday, December 17 from 3:00 to 4:30 pm at Martin County Resource Center.
  • SAVE THE DATE: 4-H Presentation Day 2018

    4-H Presentation Day will be taking place on Saturday, July 14 at the Fairmont Opera House.

    The Martin County Extension office will be closed on several holidays.
  • Livestock and Auction Committee Meeting

    Mark your calendars! The Livestock/Auction Committee will meet at the Courthouse on Monday, January 29 at 5:15 p.m
  • Next Council and Federation Meeting Scheduled for January 29

    Reminder that the next scheduled 4-H Federation is on January 29 at 7:00 pm at the Martin County Courthouse. The Council will meet at 6:30 pm prior to the Federation Meeting.
  • Severe Weather Reminder

    We would like to remind you that all county 4-H meetings (as well as most club meetings) will be postponed or cancelled when there is threatening weather. We will do our best to cancel/postpone meetings at least two hours before their scheduled start time.

    Thank you to the outgoing 2016-2017 Federation Officers! We appreciated your leadership the past 4-H year. And congrats to our new Federation Officers! We look forward to seeing how you can make the best better for our county youth!
  • Horse PDC Meeting - Save the Date(s)

    Martin County 4-H Horse PDC Meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 6 at 6:00 p.m. at the Courthouse. Additional meetings are scheduled on March 6 and May 8 at 6:00 p.m. at the Courthouse.
  • Apply Now to be a 2018 4-H Camp Counselor or DOC

    SW 4-H Summer Camp will be held June 18-22, 2018. We are looking for camp counselors in grades 9 and up to help lead camp. Applications are being accepted now through January 17.
  • It's time to register for the SW Winter Project Leader Training!

    An exciting day is being planned for all 4-H screened adult volunteers to network with fellow volunteers while gaining new ideas for working with clubs and youth. It will be held Saturday, February 24th from 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at SMSU in Marshall.
  • 2017 Martin County 4-H Recognition Banquet

    Friends, families, and community supporters gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of 4-H members and to show appreciation for the service of 4-H volunteers at the 2017 4-H Awards and Recognition Banquet, held Sunday, November 19, at the Sherburn Community Hall in Sherburn. This year’s theme was 4-H All-Stars in the County! Those in attendance enjoyed a catered dinner by Gerhardt’s Catering. A huge “Thank You” goes to the Martin County Bankers’ Association for sponsoring the meal! Dinner was followed by the Awards Program. Award winners are listed here!

    2018 project bowl information is now available! Form a team and participate in one of the four regional Minnesota 4-H Project Bowls across the state. Check out the website for rules, resources and more to get your team started!
  • Club and project leaders -- know and connect with new members!

    Connecting with new 4-H families is an important part of enrollment. Club and project leaders are reminded that they can use 4HOnline to obtain updated member lists and contact information. User guides and video tutorials are available.
  • Save the date for the 2018 Southwest Animal Science Challenge!

    The 2018 Southwest Animal Science Challenge will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17, in Wabasso, Minnesota. This event will include horse and livestock project bowl competitions, hands-on skill-a-thon stations, and workshops on a variety of topics. 4-H'ers can attend as a project bowl team, or as an individual.
  • Plan to attend the 2018 Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) trip to Washington DC!

    Minnesota 4-H youth in grades 9-13 are invited to strengthen their communication, leadership, and citizenship skills at a national level by attending Citizenship Washington Focus in Washington D.C. from June 23-30, 2018. Registration will open Feb. 1, and close when all spaces have been filled, or by Feb. 28, whichever comes first.
  • Order from the Clovermart Winter Sale!

    The 2017-18 Clovermart winter sale is still open! We are accepting orders until Jan. 5. Clovermart is the place to find all of your Minnesota 4-H apparel and merchandise for everyone in the family.
  • Register now for the BLU leadership workshops!

    Register now for the BLU leadership workshops for youth in 6th grade on up! Five BLUs will be held at locations across the state – registration deadlines vary by location. This is a great opportunity to gain leadership skills and meet other youth from the area!
  • Enrollment/Re-enrollment is now OPEN! Be sure to get this taken care of ASAP!

    Enrollment for the new 4-H year opened up on Sep. 16 and Minnesota 4-H families are reminded and encouraged to visit mn.4HOnline.com to enroll/re-enroll both youth members and adult volunteers. The process is quick and easy; even families with multiple youth should be done in 10 minutes or less. Re-enrolling early ensures that critical communications will be received, especially as it relates to deadlines and project specific information. Detailed information about online enrollment and re-enrollment is available at www.4-H.umn.edu/4honline.

    Did you miss your favorite Minnesota 4-H styles at the state fair? Are you thinking of holiday gifts for 4-H loving people in your life? Good news - Minnesota 4-H Clovermart is open for a winter sale through Dec. 14.
  • It’s time to re-enroll

    Re-enrollment for 4-H members and adult volunteers is open. The volunteer re-enrollment period is Sept. 16 - Oct. 31. And remember, starting this fall, 4-H volunteer enrollment will last for three years.
  • Consider applying for an AMC 4-H Community Leadership Award

    The Extension Committee of the Association of Minnesota Counties (AMC) will select two 4-H club projects that will each receive awards of $500 in recognition for their contributions and service to their communities. The application deadline is Jan. 22.
