  • Message from Dorothy: Volunteering is a gift we give ourselves

    During a month we often spend expressing gratitude for good things in our lives, associate dean and state 4-H director Dorothy Freeman encourages adults to add the gift of volunteering to your list.

  • Apply for National 4-H Conference!

    Nov. 10 is the deadline for MInnesota 4-H youth to apply for the National 4-H Conference to be held in Washington D.C. April 7-12, 2018. You must be 15 years old by Jan. 1 and not older than 19 by June 1 (in the year of conference attendance).
  • Plan ahead for Citizenship Washington Focus 2018!

    Minnesota 4-H youth in grades 9-13 are invited to strengthen their communication, leadership, and citizenship skills at a national level by attending Citizenship Washington Focus in Washington D.C. from June 23-30, 2018. Pre-application materials will be available online Jan. 10, 2018.
  • Sign up for the BLU regional youth leadership workshops!

    Register for a regional youth leadership workshop for youth in grades 6-12 at one of five locations across the state. Activities are planned and facilitated by the Minnesota 4-H State Ambassadors!
  • Clovermart winter sale now open!

    Did you miss your favorite Minnesota 4-H styles at the state fair? Are you thinking of holiday gifts for 4-H loving people in your life? Good news - Minnesota 4-H Clovermart is open for a winter sale through Dec. 14.
  • It’s time to re-enroll!

    Re-enrollment for 4-H members and adult volunteers is open. The volunteer re-enrollment period is Sept. 16 - Oct. 31. And remember, starting this fall, 4-H volunteer enrollment will last for three years.
  • Consider applying for an AMC 4-H Community Leadership Award

    The Extension Committee of the Association of Minnesota Counties (AMC) will select two 4-H club projects that will each receive awards of $500 in recognition for their contributions and service to their communities. The application deadline is Jan. 22.
  • Martin County 4-H Program Coordinator's Return

    Kristie will be returning from her maternity leave on October 4 working part time until November 1, when she will transition back to full-time. While part-time, her office hours will vary even more than typical with having to accomodate night and weekend meetings on only a 20-hour-week schedule.
  • Online Enrollment for 4-H Families

    Minnesota 4-H families are reminded and encouraged to visit mn.4HOnline.com to enroll/re-enroll youth members and re-enroll adult volunteers. The process is quick and easy; even families with multiple youth should be done in 10 minutes or less. Re-enrolling early ensures that critical communications will be received, especially as it relates to deadlines and project specific information. Detailed information about online enrollment and re-enrollment is available at www.4-H.umn.edu/4honline
  • MN 4-H State Shooting Sports & Wildlife Invitational

    Congratulations to those 4-H’ers who participated in the MN 4-H State Shooting Sports and Wildlife Invitational! You were all great representatives for Martin County 4-H!
  • Next Council and Federation Meeting Scheduled for October 30 (Annual Meeting)

    Reminder that the next 4-H Federation is on October 30 at 7:00 pm at the Martin County Courthouse. Each Club must have at least two of their voting members (4-H screened volunteer and/or 4-H youth in grades 6 and up) attend this meeting. **Fall Volunteer Training AFTER the October Annual Meeting (approximately 7:30 pm)
  • MN 4-H State Horse Show Results

    Congratulations to those 4-H’ers who participated in the MN 4-H State Horse Show! The Minnesota 4-H State Horse Show was held September 18- 20 at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds
  • Recognition Banquet: Save the Date!

    The Annual Recognition Banquet will be (tentatively) held on Sunday, November 19, 2017. 4-H Clubs in charge of planning the Banquet this year are Galena and Rutland. Stay tuned for further details!

    Club Chartering is just around corner! Be sure your Club Treasurer makes note of your financials’ ending balances on September 30, as these are the figures that will need to be your beginning balances as you create and list your budget for the 2017-2018 4-H Year within your Charter.
  • Severe Weather Reminder

    We would like to remind you that all county 4-H meetings (as well as most club meetings) will be postponed or cancelled when there is threatening weather. We will do our best to cancel/postpone meetings at least two hours before their scheduled start time.

    Please take the time to check your email to get all pertinent information about upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and 4-H updates. We utilize email to continue to use 4-H and Extension dollars wisely.
