Meeker County 4-H Shooting Sports Project

Now Searching!  We are in need of a co-coordinator to help support the Shooting Sports Program.  If you have a passion for this project area, we need you!

An important training is coming up – October 7-8 in Alexandria to become a certified leader.  Please contact Cassidy ASAP if you are interested in supporting this opportunity for our youth.  Registration deadline for Leader Certification is September 22, so don’t delay!!

The Minnesota 4-H Shooting Sports & Wildlife Program is designed to promote life skills through a safe and educational program.  This program is led by trained and certified 4-H leaders.  Young people learn by doing, as they experience hands-on learning in shooting sports and wildlife education.
Disciples Include:
Air Rifle/Pistol
.22 Rifle
Each discipline teaches safety, concentration, self-discipline, self-confidence, goal setting, decision-making and courtesy as the young people learn basic skills and build toward more advanced activities.  Both competitive and cooperative skills are included.  Participants are exposed to local policies, regulations, laws, and ethical behavior both by repeated demonstration and through personal practice.

*Equipment is not needed to participate.  The county has some for member use.
