    Message from Dorothy: Be fearlessly committed to growing more true leaders

    In her last article as Minnesota 4-H state leader, Dorothy Freeman encourages all youth, volunteers and families to be fearless in growing true leaders.

    Nominate a 4-H volunteer for Salute to Excellence

    Volunteers give much to the Minnesota 4-H program! Consider nominating an outstanding volunteer for a 2019 4-H Salute to Excellence Award. All nomination materials are due by Sept. 15, 2018.

    Plan to attend annual volunteer training this fall

    Powerful things happen for youth when they’re in a positive relationship with caring adults. The 2018 annual volunteer training, “4-H Grows Relationships,” will ready youth and adult volunteers to connect to young people in meaningful ways. Watch for dates and locations across the state this fall and plan to bring a team of youth and adult volunteers.

    Card games, board games, and hands-on learning...Oh my!

    Make sure your club explores these new zoonotic disease and agritourism resources being sent to every county across the state. Then enter your team into a video contest for a chance at winning a Glo-Germ lesson kit for your group - The winning team will have the chance to work with a professional videographer to re-produce their video as a commercial for national distribution!

    Remember livestock demonstration opportunities

    Again in 2018 the Minnesota Livestock Breeders Association will be providing $30 cash awards to all 4-H members who complete a livestock demonstration during 4-H livestock weekend at the Minnesota State Fair. Start planning your livestock demonstration today!

    These scholarships are available for college-bound 4-H youth

    Two scholarships are being offered for Minnesota 4-H youth pursuing post-secondary studies at accredited colleges and universities. Over $58,000 is awarded annually through a competitive application process.

    Ambassador Meeting

    The Ambassadors will be holding a meeting on Sunday, June 24, from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. in the meeting room of the Historic Courthouse.

    Updated County Fair 4-H Livestock Judging Schedule

    Attention!! Changes have been made to the 4-H Livestock judging schedule for the 2018 County Fair.

    Food Stand/Grandstand Sign-up - Don't Forget

    New this year, you can sign-up your family to work a shift in the 4-H food stand or grand stand online!

    Set-up/Clean-up schedule

    Set-up, Monday August 6, 5p.m. - Two River Trailblazers, Ripley Fireballs, Loyal Royals, Oaktacular!, Livestock Legends and Snappy Elmdalers Clean-up, Monday August 13, 5p.m.- Culdrum Comets, Dynamites, Darling Thunderbirds, MC Hoofbeats, and Independent members. Every club is expected to send a delegation of adults and youth to assist with their assigned shift to set-up before or take-down after the fair. The more hands we have the faster the work goes! Please bring buckets, rags, brooms and a smile.
