    Two scholarships are being offered for Minnesota 4-H youth pursuing post-secondary studies at accredited colleges and universities. Over $58,000 is awarded annually through a competitive application process.
  • June Around the County Project Day

  • Congratulations to the 2018 Helping Hands Grants Recipients!

    Extension Development and Minnesota 4-H are happy to announce the 2018 Helping Hands Grant recipients. Of the 26 applications we received, 18 projects totaling $22,000 were awarded to 4-H clubs from 20 counties across the state.
  • 2018 State Arts-In registration is now open!

    All youth currently in grade nine - one year post high school are invited to participate in a 22 day theater arts/leadership/team building experience at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. The 2018 Arts-In experience begins Aug. 9. Register by June 25.
  • Sign up for the new 2018 Engineering Design Challenge (formerly Rube Goldberg) state event

    Sign up for the 2018 Engineering Design Challenge! Youth across the state in grades three and up can participate in this fun, team focused STEM based challenge. The event will take place on Monday, Aug. 6 at St. Cloud State University. Sign your team up by June 8 to guarantee a spot at the event. All Level 1 and Level 2 teams are invited to attend!
  • Card games, board games, and hands-on learning...Oh my!

    Make sure your club explores these new zoonotic disease and agritourism resources being sent to every county across the state. Then enter your team into a video contest for a chance at winning a Glo-Germ lesson kit for your group - The winning team will have the chance to work with a professional videographer to re-produce their video as a commercial for national distribution!

  • Learn about new Livestock Quality Assurance training options for 4-H animal science members

    New in 2018 – 4-H animal science members can participate in one of two options for Livestock Quality Assurance certification training: 1) Livestock Quality Assurance and Ethics (LQA&E) training, or 2) Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) training. All youth participating as state fair 4-H livestock exhibitors must complete Livestock Quality Assurance training requirements.

If your county has a Share the Fun competition at county fair, reserve a place on the rehearsal time schedule any time after June 1.

  • Around the County Project Days Are Planned Again

    Seven clubs from across the county are hosting a project day on a variety of topics to encourage youth to learn, explore the county, and connect with other 4-H members. An “Around the County Passport” was mailed to families for each 4-H member. Read further for details.

    The AKSARBEN Stock Show will be held in Grand Island, Neb. Sept. 27-30, 2018. It's open to 4-H members from Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. In it, 4-H youth exhibit livestock, compete in quiz bowl and judging, apply for scholarships and internships to work with the AKSARBEN Stock Show.
  • 2018 Helping Hands grant applications now open!

    Helping Hands grants helps fund worthy youth development programs or projects that young people seek to pursue in partnership with supportive adults and local businesses. Grant awards are between $200 and $2,000. Applications must be postmarked or emailed by March 1.

  • What Are 4-H Project Records?

    Did you know that part of 4-H project work also includes 4-H record keeping? The process of record keeping teaches 4-H members life skills in goal setting, planning, organizing and critical thinking. Various records to use can be found under the 4-H downloads section on this website along with a Guide to Meaningful 4-H Records. Records are to be completed and submitted to the 4-H office the last Friday in September each year. The project records will be evaluated and considered for award recognition.

    This handbook helps answer questions about the 4-H program in general as well as gives the Nicollet County 4-H program highlights and contact information.

    Nicollet County 4-H now has an online calendar of events.
