  • Learn about new Livestock Quality Assurance training options for 4-H animal science members

    New in 2018 – 4-H animal science members can participate in one of two options for Livestock Quality Assurance certification training: 1) Livestock Quality Assurance and Ethics (LQA&E) training, or 2) Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) training. All youth participating as state fair 4-H livestock exhibitors must complete Livestock Quality Assurance training requirements.
  • Mark your calendars for the 2018 AKSARBEN Stock Show!

    The AKSARBEN Stock Show will be held in Grand Island, Neb. Sept. 27-30, 2018. It's open to 4-H members from Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. In it, 4-H youth exhibit livestock, compete in quiz bowl and judging, apply for scholarships and internships to work with the AKSARBEN Stock Show.
  • 2018 Helping Hands grant applications now open!

    Helping Hands grants helps fund worthy youth development programs or projects that young people seek to pursue in partnership with supportive adults and local businesses. Grant awards are between $200 and $2,000. Applications must be postmarked or emailed by March 1.
  • Learn about scholarships available for college-bound 4-H youth

    Several scholarships are being offered for Minnesota 4-H youth pursuing post-secondary studies at accredited colleges and universities. Over $20,000 is awarded annually through a competitive application process. Visit the 4-H scholarship website to learn more and apply.
  • Are you interested in becoming a 4-H dairy goat judge?

    A 4-H dairy goat judges training is being planned for Saturday, May 19 at the Benton County Fairgrounds. Adults interested should mark their calendars now! Registration materials will be available soon -- stay tuned form more info.
  • Attend spring 2018 SS&W Leader Certification Training

    Register by April 6 for the April 21-22 training to be held at the Long Lake Conservation Center in Palisades. This training is for Minnesota 4-H adults and youth (9th grade and older) that lead or would like to lead training in shooting sports or wildlife.
  • 4-H Regional Project Day

    Regional Project Day is a one-day event where 4-H'ers from all counties in our region come together for a day full of creating, building and learning about project areas that interest your child. The day is filled with a variety of sessions put on by volunteers, 4-H staff and professionals in that project area who are willing to share their talents with you! From crafts, wildlife, sewing, aerospace, cooking and so much more, there is something for every 4-H'er! There will also be morning and afternoon Cloverbud sessions for our littlest 4-H'ers!

  • Spend your summer in a youth development internship with 4-H

    Minnesota 4-H is now accepting applications for 2018 summer internships with 4-H programs in counties across the state. The application deadline is open until positions are filled with a preference for candidates who apply by Feb. 15.
  • Jerry Ludwig of Redwood County named Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer

    Jerry Ludwig has been chosen as Minnesota’s 4-H Salute to Excellence Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer.
  • Crissy Otting of Clearwater County honored as Volunteer of the Year

    Crissy Otting has received the Minnesota 4-H Salute to Excellence Volunteer of the Year Award.

  • Plan to attend the 2018 Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) trip to Washington DC!

    Minnesota 4-H youth in grades 9-13 are invited to strengthen their communication, leadership, and citizenship skills at a national level by attending Citizenship Washington Focus in Washington D.C. from June 23-30, 2018. Registration will open Feb. 1, and close when all spaces have been filled, or by Feb. 28, whichever comes first.
  • Announcing the 2018 4-H Engineering Design Rube Goldberg Challenge for high school youth

    Starting in 2018 the 4-H Engineering Design Rube Goldberg Challenge will include high school youth in grades 9 to one year after high school. The 2018 challenge will be to “plant a seed and water the seed”.
  • 2018 Regional 4-H Project Day

  • SE Invitational Project Bowl

    If you have entered a team in the regional 4-H Project Bowl contests, here’s a chance for you to practice and learn about 4-H Project Bowls. The SE Invitational Project Bowl will be held Saturday, February 17 in Byron.

  • Free "How-To" GATEway Science Fair Workshop

    Would you like to learn how to do a science fair project? Come to a free workshop that will show you how. Find out what makes a good science fair project, based on the scientific method of inquiry. Scientists will work with you in small groups to conduct and gather data for two experiments.
