Olmsted County Committees

Volunteers, Community Members, and 4-H Supporters we are looking for you to volunteer on a committee!  All committee members must be screened or in the process of being a screened volunteer.

The committees are:

Budget: The committee will look at the previous year’s budget and actual money spent to decide what to budget for the new year.  A meeting is scheduled for October 16th, 5:30-7:00 at 125 Live to establish a budget for Fiscal Year 2017-2018.    In addition this committee will take a look at areas we need to prioritize in order to give more funding to and complete an audit on our finances.  Requirements:  You don’t need to be an expert in finances to join this committee, just an open mind with new ideas.

Grievance: The purpose of the committee is to provide a means by which to respond to the concerns of 4-H members and their parents/guardians relating to 4-H activities, rules and decisions. The grievance process provides a way for a member’s and parent’s/guardian’s concern to be heard and responded to by a committee of peers.  Requirements: this committee needs a balance of livestock and non-livestock experience.  This committee will come together only if a grievance is filed.

4-H Youth Leader of the Year: This committee will review applications for 4-H Youth Leader of the Year award.  This award goes out to youth who are graduating Seniors.   Requirements: Knowledge of 4-H, must not be related to applicants, evaluate applications, and have a background in youth leadership.

Hog Roast Committee: This committee will meet monthly starting in November to discuss and plan the Hog Roast Fundraising Event. Meetings will consist of planning location/time, brainstorming how to grow our community partnerships, increase attendance numbers, finding sources for food, putting together the auction and getting donations for the auction.   Requirements include: having an open mind, attending the meetings monthly, building community partnerships, and working well with others.
