4-H Day Camps 2017

Register by e-mailing 4-H staff Janet Malone; malon034@umn.edu with your child's name, parent or guardian contact info, and the location and camp you will be attending.

 

 

"No" Horsin' Around Class

You have NO horse but you would like to learn about horses; just gallop over to learn more about the 4-H Horseless Horse Project. Always dreamed of having a horse? Come and meet other horse crazy kids at "No" Horsin' Around! Participants will learn the basics of horse care, parts of the horse, different breeds, and make/take projects that teach life skills such as decision making, problem solving, and leadership.

When & Where: Wednesday June 28th

  • 9:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m. @ Perham High School
  • 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. @ New York Mills School

Who: Youth grades 3-5th (grade going into in the fall)

Program Fee: $10 per youth, family max of $20.00. Please contact the Extension Office if you need a fee waiver.

 


 

Super Sleuths Science Sessions

In this 2-hour session youth will learn and lead through problem solving activities; engineering problems, develop sound reasoning skills, find solutions with evidence, and give oral explanations. The development of problem solving skills is a critical life skill best developed through hands on experimenting! Activities will include building straw towers, making super scrumptious smoothies, experimenting with candy, and flour balloons, just to name a few of our projects that will support STEM learning.

When & Where:  Thursday, June 22nd

  • 9:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m. @ Perham High School
  • 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. @ New York Mills School

Cloverbud Camp

Learn & lead through 4-H hands-on activities and games that teach kids life skills. Cloverbud Camp is engaging and purposeful in reaching youth grades K-2nd with interactive projects and activities that promote "learning by doing"! Cloverbuds will have fun with games that teach life skills, creativity, confidence, and courage in a fun and supportive environment. Participants will learn about how "Habitats are Homes" as well as learning about the wonderful world of "Weaving and Dying."

When & Where: Thursday June 15th

9:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m. @ Perham High School
2:00 - 4:00 p.m. @ New York Mills SchoolWho: Grades k-2 (grade going into in the fall)
