Shooting Sports September Update

As summer is winding down, we are just gearing up to head down to the State 4H Shooting Sports & Wildlife Invitational in Fairmont, MN.  We have about 15 members that are participating in this year’s Invitational, and our group project for this year will be on Soil Conservation.  Stayed tuned to see how our team did in the next newsletter!

If you have attended any of our practices, you may have noticed how many kids we have participating in our Shooting Sports program.  On any given night, we have 20+ kids participating in the various disciplines that we offer.  In order to continue to offer this great Shooting Sports program, we could definitely use more instructors.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer instructor, you must attend a Shooting Sports & Wildlife certification training course.  There are 2 courses offered per year, once in the fall and once in the spring.

The next training course will be offered the weekend of October 7 & 8 in Alexandria.  For more information click here or feel free to visit with any one of our current instructors.  And trust me, you don’t have to be an expert, you just have to be willing to work with our youth members.

Have a great rest of the summer!
