Crissy Otting of Clearwater County honored as Volunteer of the Year

Crissy Otting of Clearwater County has received the Minnesota 4-H Salute to Excellence Volunteer of the Year Award. Crissy has been instrumental in bringing youth voice to the county’s horse project. She creates an environment of belonging through her genuine interest and concern for youth and their families. Crissy’s commitment to young people and the 4-H program is clear as she has guided 4-H’ers to thrive and want to be active members in their program.

Crissy was chosen by a panel of judges from an outstanding list of nominees. She advances to the north central region judging, then to the national level if selected.

The National 4-H Salute to Excellence Volunteer Awards recognize 4-H volunteers who demonstrate exemplary service to 4-H. Each year state 4-H programs nominate two outstanding individual volunteers through the 4-H Salute to Excellence Awards. The Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer Award is given to an individual who has spent 10 or more years as a 4-H volunteer while the Volunteer of the Year Award is given to an individual who has volunteered for 4-H less than 10 years.
