  • Message from Dorothy: Youth in 4-H make healthier choices

    Associate dean and state 4-H director Dorothy Freeman celebrates the connection between 4-H and healthy choices in young people. Two 4-H members' stories are featured and you're invited to share your own healthy living story.
  • Plan to attend the 2018 Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) trip to Washington DC!

    Minnesota 4-H youth in grades 9-13 are invited to strengthen their communication, leadership, and citizenship skills at a national level by attending Citizenship Washington Focus in Washington D.C. from June 23-30, 2018. Registration will open Feb. 1, and close when all spaces have been filled, or by Feb. 28, whichever comes first.
  • Registration ending soon for BLU leadership retreats!

    The 2018 Building Leadership & Understanding (BLU) leadership retreats will be held in five different locations across the state during the month of February. BLU is a great opportunity for youth in 6th grade and above to meet youth from across their region and learn about leadership too!
  • Announcing the 2018 4-H Engineering Design Rube Goldberg Challenge for high school youth

    Starting in 2018 the 4-H Engineering Design Rube Goldberg Challenge will include high school youth in grades 9 to one year after high school. The 2018 challenge will be to “plant a seed and water the seed”.
  • Jerry Ludwig of Redwood County named Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer

    Jerry Ludwig has been chosen as Minnesota’s 4-H Salute to Excellence Outstanding Lifetime Volunteer.
  • Crissy Otting of Clearwater County honored as Volunteer of the Year

    Crissy Otting has received the Minnesota 4-H Salute to Excellence Volunteer of the Year Award.
  • A Royal 4-H Celebration - 2017 Awards Night

    The annual 4-H Awards Night was held on November 14. The evening focused on the accomplishments of our 4-H members and 4-H supporters and had a medieval age theme to the evening with costumes and decorations.
  • Quiz Bowl

    Patterned after the golden-oldie television show "College Bowl", Quiz Bowl challenges teams of 3-6 youth on their knowledge of 4-H animal based project areas.
  • Club Charters

    4-H Club Charters are now complete. Thanks for your hard work on them! Thank you also to all the volunteers who helped guide 4-H youth through this process.
  • Winter Weather

    The weather and road conditions can vary greatly from one part of the county to another, so please use your best judgement when traveling to 4-H events.
  • Apply Now to be a 2018 4-H Camp Counselor or DOC

    SW 4-H Summer Camp will be held June 18-22, 2018. We are looking for camp counselors in grades 9 and up to help lead camp. Applications are being accepted now through January 17.
  • It's time to register for the SW Winter Project Leader Training!

    An exciting day is being planned for all 4-H screened adult volunteers to network with fellow volunteers while gaining new ideas for working with clubs and youth. It will be held Saturday, February 24th from 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at SMSU in Marshall.

  • Participate in 2018 project bowls!

    2018 project bowl information is now available! Form a team and participate in one of the four regional Minnesota 4-H Project Bowls across the state. Check out the website for rules, resources and more to get your team started!
  • Club and project leaders -- know and connect with new members!

    Connecting with new 4-H families is an important part of enrollment. Club and project leaders are reminded that they can use 4HOnline to obtain updated member lists and contact information. User guides and video tutorials are available.
  • Save the date for the 2018 Southwest Animal Science Challenge!

    The 2018 Southwest Animal Science Challenge will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17, in Wabasso, Minnesota. This event will include horse and livestock project bowl competitions, hands-on skill-a-thon stations, and workshops on a variety of topics. 4-H'ers can attend as a project bowl team, or as an individual.
  • Order from the Clovermart Winter Sale!

    The 2017-18 Clovermart winter sale is still open! We are accepting orders until Jan. 5. Clovermart is the place to find all of your Minnesota 4-H apparel and merchandise for everyone in the family.
  • Santa's Workshop

    Santa's Workshop is an annual event held in conjunction with the Pipestone Area Chamber of Commerce's Santa Comes to Town event. All activities will take place at the Ewert Rec Center on Saturday, December 2. Ambassador and youth leader assistance is needed.

    Everyone wants their experience with 4-H to be positive, including your club meetings and project learning experiences. Want Brandi to attend your meeting and help with your club experience?
  • Your Contact Information

    Please take time when re-enrolling to update your contact information including, but not limited to, your address, e-mail and phone number. There are many members enrolled in 4-H and it can sometimes be difficult to make contact with those members without current information.
  • Project Workshops

    Are you knowledgeable in a project area and would like to share? Maybe you would like to learn more about a certain area? Pipestone County 4-H staff are looking at areas to explore for project learning.

  • Sign up for the BLU regional youth leadership workshops!

    Register for a regional youth leadership workshop for youth in grades 6-12 at one of five locations across the state. Activities are planned and facilitated by the Minnesota 4-H State Ambassadors!
  • It’s time to re-enroll

    Re-enrollment for 4-H members and adult volunteers is open. The volunteer re-enrollment period is Sept. 16 - Oct. 31. And remember, starting this fall, 4-H volunteer enrollment will last for three years.
  • Consider applying for an AMC 4-H Community Leadership Award

    The Extension Committee of the Association of Minnesota Counties (AMC) will select two 4-H club projects that will each receive awards of $500 in recognition for their contributions and service to their communities. The application deadline is Jan. 22.
  • 4HOnline is Open to Re-Enroll

    October 1 is the beginning of a new 4-H year and it is time to re-enroll!! Online enrollment is quick and easy. We encourage you to re-enroll as soon as possible! Check out all the information here!
  • 4-H Cloverbuds

    Cloverbuds is a discovery 4-H program for our youngest 4-H members (all Kindergarten through 2nd graders). Each meeting includes a snack, project learning and recreation with our youth and adult leaders.
