Have you applied to be a Regional Camp Counselor yet?

The search is still on for qualified youth to serve as 2018 Regional 4-H Camp Counselors.  The Morris Regional 4-H Camp is a unique camping opportunity for youth participants and counselors.  Camp will be held at the University of Minnesota Morris campus June 19th-21st.  The facility is full-service with top quality dorms, a full menu of great food, and a wide variety of recreational activities.

Twenty-five volunteer counselors will be selected to serve as Directors, Senior Counselors, and Junior Counselors.  The role of a camp counselor is to help campers have experiences that contribute to their growth and maturity by demonstrating values campers can mode. Counselors will also help them experience increased levels of responsibility and develop their self-esteem through experiencing success.

New this year: 4-H Camp Counselor applications are available ONLINE (preferred method!) or a paper copy can be requested by contacting your local county 4-H office.  Deadline to apply is 4:28 p.m. on Thursday, January 25th. All youth who apply will be notified by email of selection on or before February 5th.  If you want to see the full application prior to completing online, visit your county's website - there is a PDF version under Downloads.

Please note: all selected camp counselors are required to pay a registration fee (please DO NOT make any payment until camp selection is complete) which will be due prior to training on March 17th. (Talk with your local county 4-H program to find out if the provide assistance with the fees.)  The counselor registration fee includes costs incurred for training, as well as lodging & meals at camp.  Senior Counselors/Directors will pay $70.  Junior Counselors pay $50.
