Ambassadors Off and Running

Thank you to the Ambassadors who came to help with getting game prizes and door prizes ready for Recognition and Game Night.  We also discussed two key issues.  One relating to communicating as a group.  The second relating to leadership.

The decision was made to move forward with group communication using the tool GroupMe.  Expect to see an invitation to join Redwood County Ambassadors group.  This is the tool we will use to communicate Ambassador Meetings and Events.  The expectation being all Ambassadors will use GroupMe to communicate.  Parents will also be invited into the GroupMe app.  The app can be downloaded on Android, Apple, or IPod devices for free.  Anyone with questions or concerns regarding this communication tool should give Stacy a call.

The second discussion centered around Leadership Awards.  The group decided to continue working toward Leadership Awards and focused on two.  The Key Award which is a Minnesota 4-H award with specific criteria to meet.  This award is geared toward youth in grades 10-12.  Key Award information will be available at the Recognition and Game night, through the Minnesota 4-H Website, and will be uploaded to the Redwood County 4-H Website by 12/2017.  The second award is the Junior Leader Award.  Currently, in Redwood County this award is tied to record keeping.  The group decided to take a closer look at the Junior Leader Award and work toward creating our own Leadership Award for youth in grades 7-9 using criteria to set the standard for earning this award.  More discussion and decision making will follow.
