Volunteer Shout Out!

Redwood County 4-H is very fortunate to have the best volunteers!  We made it through the re-enrollment phase in October with nearly all our volunteers getting re-enrolled.  THANK YOU for your time and dedication to getting this task done.  The benefit to each of our screened volunteers is you are now enrolled for 3 years!  But the icing on the cake is our youth are at an even higher level of safety.  The safety of our youth is of paramount importance and I truly thank each of our volunteers for taking the time during this most crazy harvest to complete the enrollment process.  I am also very aware we have some incredible volunteers who have not completed the screening process who also place the safety of our youth in high regards and we appreciate all the work you do for Redwood County 4-H!

Redwood County has 109 screened volunteers at this point.  Our goal is 160 screened volunteers by County Fair.  We can do it!  Ask Stacy or Becky how to get started.

I would like to put the plug in for our clubs to work to have one adult per family complete the screening process.  How do you know if you should become a screened volunteer?  Any adult who is in a position of power in clubs including leaders, treasurer advisors, project clubs, committee's such as Animal Science Superintendents and/or county fair programs should become a screened volunteer this is part of Mn 4-H and Redwood County 4-H policy.  Some committee members who do not work directly with youth do not need to be a screened volunteer.  Anyone interested in going through the screening process can give us a call in the office at 507-637-4025 or visit the Minnesota 4-H Web page under volunteers to complete the online application process.  Thank you in advance for your consideration!

Pictured is Steve Dingels judging in our Premier Showmanship Competition held this past summer during County Fair.  Steve has been a long time volunteer in Redwood County and recently retired for the Redwood County Extension Committee along with Leah Teveldal.  Redwood County Extension Committee represents districts of Redwood County and helps to maintain the Mission of Extension.  Thank You both for your time, effort, and input!

This month Volunteer Shout Out goes to our Redwood County 4-H Endowment Committee.  Nancy Hansen, Pat Dingels, Kerry Netzke, and Jerry Ludwig have been working with our program to get the endowment started since Fall 2015.  This group of people have used their time, expertise and experience often behind the scenes to set Redwood County 4-H on the track of obtaining financial security from now and into a long standing future!  Thank you!!
