  • SW MN Dog Project Practices

  • Welcome to our Summer Intern!
    Our 2017 Summer Intern, Gabryelle Gilliam started this week on May 15th! She was so excited to join us in Rock County that she was willing to start on her birthday! She is a dual major in Animal Science & Industry (Production Management option) & Agricultural Education. Gabryelle just completed her Sophomore year at Kansas State University. She is excited to get the Minnesota 4-H experience this summer since her hometown is Washington, Kansas.
  • Support 4-H at the Waffle Feed on June 3
    The Luverne Chamber of Commerce invited 4-H to sponsor the annual Belgian waffle feed again this year on June 3 from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Luverne American Legion. Our Robotics and Horse project youth will be working the event. Please come and enjoy breakfast and support our 4-H program.

    Remember that the final registration deadline for 4-H Camp is June 1st.
  • Rock County 4-H Livestock Clinic Survey
    We are working on planning a Livestock Clinic for all species in Rock County. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey to provide information and feedback of what could be offered at this clinic. Click the article title to get to the survey link.
  • Looking for a Foodstand Manager
    We are still looking for a Food Stand Manager for the County Fair. Please contact Chelsey if you are interested or have suggestions of candidates.
  • Mark your calendars for MN State Fair 4-H General Encampment
    Rock County's State Fair General Encampment will be August 29-31. Mark your calendars and start working on your general projects that you hope to earn a State Fair Trip on. Rock County will have a bus traveling to state fair this year for general encampment. Also, adults, start thinking about possibly chaperoning for state fair. If you are not already a screened volunteer, contact the office and we can help you get started with the screening process.
  • Federation Meeting & Ambie Meetings on June 5
    The next Rock County Ambie meeting is on June 5 at 5:30 p.m. The Federation Meeting for June will follow at 6:30 p.m. Both meetings will be at the Rock County Extension Office meeting room.
  • Fair Registration Deadline is June 29th
    The sign-up period for fair projects will be from June 1 to June 29. The premium book should be available online around June 1 and will be handed out at your club's June meeting. We will be sending a more detailed fair email in the next couple of weeks with more information on using fair entry. Make sure you have the June 29th deadline on your calendar!
  • Rock County 4-H Horse Pleasure Clinic - June 10
    Rock County 4-H is hosting a Pleasure Skills Clinic with Joe Rowe for Horse members on June 10. Please register for the clinic by June 1 by filling out the registration form and dropping off $20 per rider at the Extension Office.
