    A Buzz of Learning during After School 4-H

    Lowell after school 4-H members and friends learned about our most important pollinator, honeybees. Members were treated to a bit of honey in addition to learning about these social insects.

    Afterschool Summer 4-H Putting Down Roots

    Summer school 4-H programming is off to a great start in its first summer. Students attending summer school programs at Myers-Wilkins, Laura MacArthur, and Raleigh have the opportunity to participate in the summer 4-H session.

    Join the County Ambassador Team!

    If you are in grade 6 and above, now is a great time to consider joining the County 4-H Ambassador Team. We meet monthly, either at the 4-H office or at a cool location (like in the picture), often on the last Thursday of the month.

    4-H Supports Resiliency

    Have you heard about the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) study? In 1998, two doctors from Kaiser Permanente and the CDC conducted research looking at 10 types of childhood trauma.

    The 2018 4-H Incredible Exchange is Off to a Great Start

    Youth and site mentors meet for the annual 4-H Incredible Exchange site interviews.

    New for 2018 -- Online State Fair registrations!   

    Staff assisted online registrations will be available for 4-Hers who are awarded State Fair trips. The new process will no longer take place at the County Fair, but the following week in the county 4-H office.

    It's almost County Fair time!

    Hope all your awesome projects are ready to go! We can’t wait to see them! Everyone in 4-H is encouraged to sign up to show off their talents and creativity. The South St. Louis County Fair in Proctor is July 10th through the 15th.

    Owls and Rabbits, Oh My!

    The March STEM workshop at the Duluth Children’s Museum, put on by the STEM Youth Ambassadors, focused on the predator-prey relationship between owls and rabbits. 15 area youth attended.

    Northern Lights Club Goes Dog Sledding!

    The Northern Lights Club had a great time Dog Sledding on March 10th. All the club members were invited and many participated in this Northland activity.

    Stowe Elementary STEM

    The 4-H after school STEM program at Stowe elementary kicked off the new year by learning to make unique glider designs. The program is held every other Monday night in partnership with the KeyZone program.
