Volunteer Spotlight

Meet Chris N. a volunteer with the Wilpen 4-H Club. Recently he shared his experience as a volunteer with the North St. Louis County 4-H Program.

Nicole Kudrle: How did you first get connected to 4-H?

I participated in 4-H when I was a youth. I got reconnected when my children expressed interest in 4-H.

Nicole Kudrle: What is your Favorite part of being a 4-H Volunteer?

Working with the youth and watching their minds grow and how they work together with others.

Nicole Kudrle: In what way(s) does 4-H make a difference in the lives of young people?

I believe it gives the youth a chance to grow in different ways. They are taught very important leadership skill and it challenges their minds.  4-H also challenges youth to explore areas outside their comfort level.

Nicole Kudrle: Of all the places you could volunteer, why do you choose 4-H?

I choose 4-H to help keep it alive in our area. It gives our youth something to do and be involved in.

Nicole Kudrle: What would you say to somebody who's thinking about being a 4-H volunteer?

If you enjoy working with youth of all ages and like to be involved with helping create activities and projects then 4-H has a lot to offer for young and old.
