Youth Program Quality Assessment (YPQA)

As a youth development organization we are always looking for ways to improve the experience of young people in our clubs. One great way of doing this is through a process called quality program observations.

The process involves clubs working with a trained team of individuals to enhance the club experience for youth.   In north St Louis 4-H we have Program Coordinator, 4-H youth and adult volunteers trained to lead this process.  These “Quality Coaches” will attend one of your club meetings and observe what is occurring. They will be taking notes that are used later in the “Discovery Process”.

Once the observation is completed a second meeting (call the Discovery meeting) is scheduled. We ask for two adults and two or three youth to attend the meeting.  The goal of the meeting is to develop a simple action plan designed to build on the clubs strengths.  . The quality coaches will come back and do a second observation to watch for your successes!

The process is fun and informative.  If you are interested please contact the office with any questions.
