LQA&E Training Dates

LQA&E (Livestock Quality Assurance & Ethics) training is already starting up for the upcoming fair season!  Remember, if you have not taken LQA&E training, or if the last time you took it was 2015 or before, you must take the training in 2018 to be eligible for State Fair Livestock Exhibition and/or to Market Your Swine Project Animals.  If someone in your family needs to be certified or re-certified, you will be receiving an email in the coming weeks stating who in your family needs it, or you can check the date of your last LQA&E training in 4honline or call the Extension office at 444-7685.

NOTE:  All youth participating as a State Fair 4-H livestock exhibitor in beef, dairy, sheep, swine, poultry, rabbits, meat and dairy goat and lama must have completed the a Livestock Quality Assurance and Ethics (LQA&E) workshop. Certification is required prior to county fair qualifying show and is good for three fair seasons. The level of training required is determined by the grade of the youth at the time the training takes place.  Since 2006, pre-State Fair age 4-Hers are recommended to be certified.  Some counties do, however, require certification of swine members (grades 3-13) due to packer requirements at county fair.

Here are the local training dates for this year!  There is a limit to how many can attend at each location so please call for your spot now as they tend to fill up quickly.
