  • Register for the 2017 Minnesota 4-H State Shooting Sports & Wildlife Invitational!

    4-H youth in grades 3-13 who have completed 15 hours of on-line shooting under the guidance of a certified instructor and eight hours of wildlife education are invited to attend the 4-H Shooting Sports & Wildlife Invitational Sept. 8-10 at the Martin County Fairgrounds in Fairmont. This event involves approximately 800 young people and is the culmination of the year-long shooting and wildlife project. Individuals must register by July 17 and teams must register by Aug. 18.

  • 2017 Horse Project

    2017 Horse Project Training is beginning on Saturday, May 20th from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the Steele County Fairgrounds Horse Arena. See the training schedule for all of the dates. Your horse(s) will be to be ID on 4HONLINE by May 15th, along with a current Coggins Test. The training fee (per 4-H'er) is $15.00 this year, payable to Steele County 4-H. Please drop off or send payment to the Steele County Extension Office before training begins.

    2017 Animal Science Project ID Information - DEADLINE MONDAY, MAY 15, 2017 For Breeding Beef. Sheep, Swine, Dairy, Dairy Goat, Meat Breeding Goat, Market Goat, Rabbit, Lama, Poultry, Horse, & Dog Again this year, Minnesota 4-H is using its online enrollment system, 4HOnline, to record all animal identifications. 4HOnline has the capability of tracking animal ownership and identification data and has been used successfully in other states. PLEASE NOTE: You will NOT be able to identify any animals until you have enrolled or re-enrolled as a 4-H member this year in 4HOnline.

  • LQA&E Training

    Are you State Fair age (grades 6-13) and/or will you be exhibiting swine at the 2017 County Fair? If so, you need to complete LQA&E training this year if you did not take it in 2015 or 2016. If you have taken the training before but are not sure when, you can find that out by going to 4honline - the year you took the training and the expiration date is listed under your name on your family page. Read more if you need the training this year - workshops fill up fast!
  • 2016-2017 4-H Club Council Agendas & Updates

    4-H Club Council Agendas and meeting notes are available at each 4-H Club Council meeting and will be posted to the website after each meeting.
  • 4-H Graduation

    4-H'ers who have graduated from high school or have completed their first year beyond high school are eligible to graduate from 4-H.
  • 4-H Awards and Recognition Event

    This annual 4-H Awards and Recognition event will be held this year on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the VFW in Owatonna.
  • 4-H Club Council

    4-H Club Council meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month unless otherwise stated. They are held at the Steele County Community Center on the fairgrounds beginning at 7 p.m. All clubs and their members belong to Club Council and each club is encouraged to send at least one or two youth and adult representatives to each meeting.

    The Steele County 4-H Ambassador program is open to all 4-H youth who are in 7th grade or higher.
